Malpractice Policy

The Journal of Software, Informatics, and Interactions (JSII) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. All allegations of research or publication misconduct are taken seriously and will be investigated in accordance with established ethical guidelines and the policies of UPM Press.

Research and Publication Misconduct

Examples of misconduct include, but are not limited to:

Plagiarism or self-plagiarism
Data fabrication or falsification
Duplicate or redundant publication
Undisclosed conflicts of interest
Improper authorship or authorship disputes
Unethical research involving human participants or animals
Manipulation of the peer review process

All concerns or allegations will be handled confidentially, fairly, and objectively. Investigations may involve editors, reviewers, institutional representatives, or other relevant parties where appropriate.

Actions and Sanctions

Where misconduct is confirmed, JSII may take one or more of the following actions:

Reject the manuscript
Publish a correction, retraction, or withdrawal notice
Notify the author’s institution or relevant authority
Restrict future submissions to the journal
Remove editorial or reviewer responsibilities where applicable

Any action taken will be proportionate to the severity of the misconduct and consistent with the ethical policies of UPM Press.
